Customs By J has been in business since 1997.
Five years may not seem like that much, but before Jesse actually became "J", he worked out of his garage for 17 years. So if you think the way I do 22 years is a lot of years of experience.
Jesse's first interest in cars was inspired by his father James. As a child growing up he and his father would spend lots of time together building model cars, James sought this to be a good diversion to keep his son off the streets.
But much to his dismay Jesse's interest in cars surpassed his fathers intentions of encouragement.
But that's not all, Jesse started out by customizing model cars and by the age of 13 he started working on the mechanical aspect of REAL cars and trucks. As his ability and intrest grew in automobiles, this led to the eventual complete restoration of 3 vehicles. These include:
- 2 - 1956 Chevy sedans
- 1 - 1951 Chevy 5 window ½ ton pick-up truck.
Although both '56 Chevys were restored to original the '51 Chevy pick-up was his 1st venture into customizing.
